About Us

The business was established in August 2004 by Mrs Valerie Chaplin and is continuing to grow every year, and has links with several local accountancy practices.

Gold Accounting is based in Alderholt near Fordingbridge, which is a small village between Ringwood, Hampshire and Salisbury, Wiltshire.

Valerie has over 20 years experience in Industry working for both small and medium size companies, concluding with the Management of a global software company trading all over Europe and the USA.

The last eight years have been spent gaining experience with accountancy practices on a self-employed basis ensuring a professional service, and access to other areas of tax expertise.

The Team

TAX Returns, Marketing and Client Relationships
Valerie, as the business owner, concentrates on the small business tax returns for many local businesses, and is responsible for maintaining client relationships.

She will also manage your CIS Administration, filing it online within the monthly deadlines, and advising you of the payments to be made to the Revenue within the set timescales.

She has many years experience of Sage Line 50, and has recently joined the Accountants Club with Sage.  This has resulted in the business becoming a Sage Reseller, with some discounts being passed direct to the clients.

She also uses IRIS Paye-Master and IRIS Book Keeping for the business accounts, offering a cheaper alternative to Sage Line 50.

Excel is an important tool for many businesses, which Valerie has been using for over ten years, and can be used to set up spreadsheets for collating your accounting data, or for more detailed Management Accounts information.

Training for all the software can be provided, should your business wish to purchase it direct, at a price much lower than the Software Providers charge themselves.

Her links with several local accountancy practices have been built over the last few years, resulting in her being recommended as an approved book keeper by practices based in Ringwood and Salisbury.

Payroll Bureau

The current financial market seems to be effecting many small business cash flows, including several of our smaller clients, and has now sadly begun to effect Gold Accounting Services.

This squeeze on cashflow has resulted in us making the sad decision to make cut backs, and unfortunately our Payroll Administrator Mel has been made redundant.

We are very sorry to lose her, as it was her assistance that enabled the business to grow to the size it is today, and we wish her all the very best for the future.

All Payroll matters will now once again be handled by the business owner Valerie, until such times that we can afford to employ a dedicated payroll administrator again.

Often the payslips and payroll reports are emailed direct to the client, enabling a quick turnaround, and the ability to review the information before the employee payments are made.

The software has the ability to file directly to the HM Customs and Excise website, earning your business the government incentive payments.  Online filing of starter and leaver information is also provided through the Agents passwords system, ensuring no loss of information to the Revenue in the post.

Book Keeping and Admin

We have recently recruited Debbie to manage the company book keeping and the growing client list.

She has the ability to work onsite at the clients premises or at the Gold Accounting premises, and is available week days between 9.30am and 2.30pm.

Debbie has Sage experience, good organisational skills, the ability to work alone, and is quick to learn new processes.

No book keeping role is too small, and training in the use of Excel, Sage and/or Iris Book Keeping is available on request.

Gold Accounting Services are also members of the Sage Accountants Club and a Silver Partner with Iris Software, and can often organise discounts of up to 20% on Software purchases.
